WebSphere Commerce V5.4 Store Design - WA343v1
Description
This course will provide conceptual and practical knowledge of designing store
models and customizing pages for a store using the development tools provided
by Commerce Studio.
The emphasis of the course will be on techniques and will include the basic
framework of knowledge that store developers need to be able to design a basic
e-commerce site.
NOTE: Upon completion of the course, it is highly recommended that students
do further research for additional commands in the product reference materials.
It is beyond the scope of this course to include details for every command.
Classroom lab exercises are provided in this course as downloadable PDF files.
However, this course is not equivalent to a lab environment in a classroom.
It is recommended that students take the classroom course, WebSphere Commerce
Version 5.4 System Administration (WA341GB), to gain hands-on experience that
can be applied on the job and that can be used to prepare for certification.
Objectives
After completing this course, student should be able to:
- Describe the WebSphere Commerce architecture and utilize development tools
to create an online store
- Describe the components of a store (files and data) and how a store is created
and published
- Implement the WebSphere Commerce commands for the important shopping processes
and combine them to create or modify shopping flows
- Identify the WebSphere Commerce data beans available to display WebSphere
Commerce data in JavaServer Pages (JSP)
- Create customized pages for a store to support store features including;
catalog, registration and logon, address book, interest list, order processing,
personalization, auctions, collaboration integration, Product Advisor, and
B2B related functions (contracts, approval processing, requisition list).
Note: This is not an exhaustive list of customized pages that will be presented
in this course

o General understanding of the WebSphere Commerce product.

This course is intended for WebSphere Commerce Storefront Developers and individuals
developing or customizing an e-commerce site using WebSphere Commerce, Version
5.4. Storefront Developers will be designing and customizing the store JavaServer
Pages (JSPs).
